FILTER MAINTENANCE
The fiber media, (pre-filters), and the secondary aluminum mesh filters should be cleaned weekly. The better the filters are maintained, the better the chalk eater unit will operate.
1.
The power must be turned off when cleaning the filters.
2.
Clean the secondary aluminum mesh filters first and air dry while the fiber media, (pre-filters), are being vacuumed.
3.
Spray secondary aluminum mesh filters with the filter clean provided. Any household cleaner, (409), or oil emulsifier can be used. Do not use ammonia, bleach, or any cleaners that contain acid. Spray both sides of the secondary aluminum mesh filters and rinse with cold water. Shake out excess water and air dry. The pressure outlet of a shop vacuum can be used to speed up the drying process.
4.
Once the secondary aluminum mesh filters are dry, spray both sides with filter tack spray.
5.
Re-install the secondary aluminum mesh filter. NOTE: Air direction flow arrow must be facing the inside of the chalk eater unit.
6.
Vacuum the fiber media, (pre-filters), to remove chalk, dust, and airborne pollutants.
7.
Install fiber media, (pre-filters), and turn on unit.
Maintaining the filters is important in keeping the chalk eater unit operating at peak efficiency. Dirty filters restrict the air filtration and reduce the effectiveness of the chalk eater unit.
