CHALK EATER UNIT - SAFETY INFO

  1. Follow all local electrical codes, the National Electric Code and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) codes. Have all electrical work performed by a qualified electrician.

  2. Turn unit off prior to cleaning or changing filters. Never turn the unit on without the metal filters in place.

  3. Disconnect power when working on unit. Be especially cautious of pulleys and belts. Allow the electric motor to cool before touching to prevent burns. Keep clear of belts and pulleys.

  4. Do not allow cord to come in contact with sharp objects.

  5. Make sure the power source conforms to all local and National Electrical codes. Use only a heavy duty #12 wire extension cord. Do not use an extension cord over 20’ in length. Have a qualified electrician check for voltage drop prior to turning on the unit. Do not operate the unit with undersize or damaged electrical cord.

  6. Keep the discharge (outlet) vent open, clean, and clear of any obstructions.
